Freshman year so far has been full of surprises and new experiences. Reasons being is that you meet so many new people that you probably wouldn't even talk to in your hometown or school. I myself have a big social network so far and it's still going. We have only been here for a little over two weeks.

The college classes are not that hard if you paid attention in high school so far! Yes the vocabulary is a little much but I like an challenging myself to do better. I take one word a day out the dictionary and I use it everyday. My word for today is insomnia, which has to do with several sleep disorders.

I have started keeping a journal to channel out some of my thoughts. The negative and positive things both get written down in that book. It's a way to hold on to these precious memories that I started when I stepped foot onto Nccu's campus.

I have been getting just a little homesick, but thank God for holidays. Labor Day is right around the corner and that's going to give me the time I need to just be with my family. I'm not too homesick to where I couldn't stay if I had to, because here at Nccu they make you feel so welcome. When you go into the cafeteria you are greeted with a smile and a motherly "hey baby" from the left side of the line. So far my experience is great. I love North Carolina Central University.
